The entire instrument body is cut from brass sheeting and slowly brought into form – over days of hammering and annealing, a body emerges with a very balanced resonance. By melting silver onto it, we achieve a strong centre in the tone, which guides the player as if on rails – not only in sound production but also in intonation. A remarkable bit of business, that! To manufacture a saxophone in this way is time- and labour-intensive. It is exactly this kind of perseverance, which demands enormous patience and attention, that makes the instrument so unique. There will never be very many of these in the world. It can be play-tested and purchased directly in our shop.
